i'm not even sure i'm posting in the right board but anyway. i'm trying to use sjtalk to call zbp, at first it worked for a few minutes, but now it doesn't even let me call. it keeps dialing and saying creating outgoing call, or it says operational but it still isn't working. plus when it worked when i needed to press pound it didn't work, so i had to hang up the call without doing what i wanted to do. i tried restarting it, restarted the pc, uninstalled and reinstalled the thing but nothing helps. now i'm trying express talk but it just confuses the hell out of me.
isn't there another software i can use? or something to do to make sjtalk work?
I have a similar problem with linphone, except that it didn't even give me the few minutes of working. It shows it is connected, but there is no response when I do anything.
i'm using linpone and is working fine for me... for now. it's still in heavy development so it's nothing special, plus it doesn't even have an audio configuration that i know of so i can't fix the quality and the volume and things, but the fact that it works makes it better than the others for me...
You ever tried gizmo project?
not a fan of gismo. i can't remember but something about it pissed me off. i'm not a fan at all. hell i have skype and the jtalk thing. as you can tell i don't know much about sip phones.
but i may give gismo another chance.
will consider this gizmo thing. if it's understandable enough and doesn't mess up like express talk
I'm still dialing into Zone by phone with my telephone. Maybe I should give these pc phones a try.
The one they recommend on the zone by phone page works pretty well, provided you know the hotkeys. The only problem I had with it was it made me sound clippy while trying to record my name. Apart from that it works reasonably well.
I use ExpressTalk, and I like it very well--well enough to write a little JFW script file for it that exits the software completely with a single keystroke and the other script dials the ZBP number (which you can change in Parameter 1 of the TypeString line).
